Your organization can save and thrive in the cloud with this first nontechnical guide to cloud computing for business leaders. In less than a decade, Google, Amazon, and Salesforce.com went from unknown ideas to powerhouse fixtures in the economic landscape; in even less time, offerings such as LinkedIn, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and many others also carved out important roles; in less than five years, Apple´s iTunes became the largest music retailer in North America. They all share one key strategic decision - each of these organizations chose to harness the power of cloud computing to power their drives to dominance. With roots in supercomputing and many other technical disciplines, cloud computing is ushering in an entirely new economic reality: technology-enabled enterprises built on low-cost, flexible, and limitless technical infrastructures. The Executive´s Guide to Cloud Computing reveals how you can apply the power of cloud computing throughout your enterprise, giving members of the C-suite a detailed look at: Why cloud computing must be a top priority on your company´s IT road maps How the drive for scale, lower costs, and greater agility is making cloud computing a fiscal and technological imperative The relationship between cloud computing and other relevant IT initiatives The strategic implications of cloud computing for the enterprise Where to begin and how to get started integrating cloud computing into your existing operations Now you can harness cloud computing´s potential for your organization. Executive´s Guide to Cloud Computing shows you how. 1. Language: English. Narrator: Walter Dixon. Audio sample: http://samples.audible.de/bk/gdan/002950/bk_gdan_002950_sample.mp3. We are living in a world in which cows send texts to farmers when they´re in heat, where the most valuable real estate in New York City houses computers, not people, and some of humanity´s greatest works are created by crowds, not individuals. We are in the midst of a networking revolution - set to transform the way we access the world´s information and the way we connect with one another. Studying biological systems is perhaps the best way to understand such networks, and nature has a lesson for us if we care to listen: Bigger is rarely better in the long run. The deadliest creature is the mosquito, not the lion. It is the quality of a network that is important for survival, not the size, and all networks - the human brain, Facebook, Google, even the internet itself - eventually reach a breakpoint and collapse. That´s the bad news. The good news is that reaching a breakpoint can be a step forward, allowing a network to substitute quality for quantity. In Breakpoint, brain scientist and entrepreneur Jeff Stibel takes listeners to the intersection of the brain, biology, and technology. He shows how exceptional companies are using their understanding of the Internet´s brain-like powers to create a competitive advantage by building more effective websites, utilizing cloud computing, engaging social media, monetizing effectively, and leveraging a collective consciousness. Indeed, the result of these technologies is a more tightly connected world with capabilities far beyond the sum of our individual minds. Breakpoint offers a fresh and exciting perspective about the future of technology and its effects on all of us.PLEASE NOTE: When you purchase this title, the accompanying reference material will be available in your My Library section along with the audio. 1. During a season of transition in my life, I found myself overwhelmed with negative emotions like self-pity and a complaining spirit. It was as if a dark cloud had descended over me. I prayed and asked God for wisdom on how to overcome these negative emotions. And I sensed Him leading me to do this 21 days of gratitude challenge. Over the course of the 21 days, God began to change me as I spent intentional time being grateful for all I have been given. I did this through writing in my journal each day and also sending a hand-written thank you note to someone different each day. And now I want to share what I learned with you in the short, but powerful book. What to Expect On Each Day of the Challenge: Listen to my personal stories, struggles and reflections. Listen to one scripture and one quote about gratitude. Apply one personal application step. Get accountability and encouragement. Along with the 21 day challenge, I also started a private Facebook group to provide accountability and encouragement for myself but also for others who decide to join me in the challenge. You will get access to this group as well. It has been amazing to see God at work in each of our lives. Will you join us? Scroll up and click ´´buy´´ to embark on this 21 days of gratitude challenge with us! 1. Language: English. Narrator: Susanna Levitt.
